rest in peace, eric dane.
heartbroken. a prime example of the unfairness of life. encouraging, beautiful words
and bravery from eric dane. it’s rare to see that a person (especially someone that
you don’t know personally) is genuine solely through their words. much love to his
loved ones!

“live now, in the present. fall in love. not necessarily with a person,
although i do recommend that as well. but fall in love with something.
find your passion, your joy. find the thing that makes you want to get
up in the morning and drives you through the entire day. choose your
friends wisely. find your people and allow them to find you. and then
give yourselves to them. the best of them will give back to you - no
judgment, no conditions, no questions asked. fight. when you face
challenges, health or otherwise, fight. never give up. fight until your
last breath. […] so when something unexpected hits you - and it will,
because that's life - fight and face it with honesty, integrity, and grace,
even if it feels or seems insurmountable.”

“i think when the lights go out, it’s over. i don’t believe that there’s
another place for our souls to go. i think people believe that stuff
because it provides them with a lot of comfort. […] i do believe that
when we go to sleep, or however it is we go, once we’re gone,
we’re gone. and we live on in the memories of the people that will
miss us.”

moonlight (2016) dir. barry jerkins — rewatched: 1/31/2026
fifteen years old when this film released (insane to think about). this was like a tight hug
around my teenage self as a queer, black person – being raised around homophobia/
transphobia, not having a genuine support system at home, and being bullied simply for
being who i am. this film truly made me feel seen. amazing performances all around.
‘moonlight’ will always have a special place in my heart, and i’m so happy that i was
able to experience, feel, and understand it at a time when i needed it.

pillion (2025) dir. harry lighton — watched: 01/28/26
to be completely honest, after watching this film, i'm more informed of a side of the world
that i didn't know much about. i also see part of myself in colin. no, i will not elaborate.

kaboom (2010) dir. gregg araki — watched: 01/27/26
gregg araki never disappoints me. a favorite director of mine; will always love his style.
funny note: i said “what the hell is going on down there?” maybe two seconds before
london says it because what the actual fuck was that?
